Over the past 8 years I have worked heavily implementing a new Asset Management System (Maximo 7.5.0.3, HSE and Scheduler) where I was responsible for mapping data from the old legacy database to the new database including the migration of the data. The project also integrated external system into Maximo such as SUN/INFOR10, Eclipse, Plant Information Meter Data, KONE Asset Inspections and TBS (Loan Tool Issuing/Tracking).
More recently I have upgraded the current Maximo 7.5.0.3 system to the last version 7.6.0.9. Some of the duties included:
•Designing the infrastructure platform in which to install Maximo 7.6 onto.
•Installing Maximo 7.6 and patching to the latest version.
•Installing Scheduler Add-On and HSE Add-Ons for Maximo.
•Installing WebSphere 8.5.5.11 for use with Maximo.
•Configuring WebSphere using the best practices to optimise Maximo performance.
•Configuring Maximo 7.6 into a high availability clusters system to optimise performance and reliability.
•Advising on design of business processes in cooperation with Customer Business Groups/Accounts team related to their requirements and responsible for the implementation of the new process, based on the standard applications.
Since completing this project I have become the SME for Maximo at Drax which involves such duties as:
•Primary Maximo/WebSphere expert for business users, IT support and Project Consultancy.
•Analysing data issues with import load files prepared for the MIF integration systems.
•Monitoring system performance including database analysis for best performance with the use of database indexing, high availability clustering and Maximo environment clustering.
•Work with the Drax business users to understand processes within Supply Chain and WMS (Works Management) and advise on the best practises to use with Maximo.
•Applying fixes/patches/upgrades and maintain the .EAR file build procedure
•Developed an automated process to redeploy the Maximo SMP files for One-Click deployments that is adaptable for all environments such as QA, UAT, Pre-Production and Production.
• EMA System Administration, configuring modules and Workflow Development.
• Developing BIRT and SSRS reports to integrate with Maximo.
• Developing Maximo training plans both technical and functional for members of my team.
•Maintaining security permissions and groups including security audits.
•Developing user interfaces and applying changes through the Application Designer/Database Configuration.
• Liaise with 3rd party Maximo support vendors in addition to IBM.
• Maintain all Maximo environments from SAT, UAT, QA, Pre-Production and Production.
In addition, I have carried out a Maximo licence review which complies with the IBM licencing contractual terms that reviewed all security groups across the system making sure that the correct permissions where setup to avoid any unnecessary licence charges. The outcome of the review significantly reduced the licencing for Authorized, Full, HSE, Scheduler and Mobile which in turn saved the company over £3m.
Furthermore, I also assist the Application Support team at Drax where I help maintain a number of business critical systems vital for the everyday running of the power station. I work closely with the development team where I have formed strong working relationships in addition to a number of other teams internally and externally to Application Support.
I have a proven record at Drax of working with development teams, identifying customer’s individual needs and building database/application systems which conform to coding standards. This has led me to gain extensive skills in coordinating database/application activities to meet SLA agreements, ensuring database/application availability and excellent problem solving and analysis skills. I am adapt in a wide variety of programming languages such as SQL, Oracle and C# where I can readily convert business requirements into practical designs and systems.
